This project is a collaboration of several sign people for a Letterheads meet in Dallas, Texas in 1986.  We decided to grant the "Golden Brush Award" to Ray Teague, an elderly sign painter who, for years had unselfishly shared his knowledge of quality signwriting with many young, eager students of the craft.  We used a section of Cherry wood from an old table and gilded the edge.  We screen printed size and gilded the copy with 23K Gold leaf.  I dunked the brush in epoxy and gilded the handle and the epoxy after it set up to give the impression the brush had been dipped in liquid Gold.
